The Foundation enjoyed a great Rally up at Newcastle and took the opportunity to announce the following:
Firstly, The Sir Henry Royce Foundation welcomes new Trustee, Dr Howard Wraight from VIC. Howard takes over from Eric Henderson who was a valued Trustee since 2013.
The SHRF is pleased to present James Bache with the Australian Apprentice of the Year Award to encourage his continued study of and practice in the servicing and maintenance of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars. Fred Engish Photography Award for 2025 was won by Greg Coombes, RROCA-QLD for his photograph “The Spirit of Camaraderie” featuring Sue Dunstan’s 1926 Dr’s Coupé & Brian Goodall’s 1925 Phantom II. The photo was taken at the 2024 QLD Branch Concours at Ormiston House. It was great to see so many entries this year.
The prestigious Foundation Trophy is awarded solely at the discretion of the Trustees. This trophy is awarded to a person who, in the opinion of the Trustees, has made a significant and long-term contribution to the ideals of Sir Henry Royce – the pursuit of excellence. This year it went to the Appleby Family – who have dedicated their working lives to keeping RR&B’s on the road, including aero engines, since 1910. Yes, the one family, 3 generations – Alfred, Don and Ralph Appleby.
